ABSTRACT

This chapter describes LMP as pursued in Poland using the categories characteristic of the neo-Weberian public management model. In the literature on managing LMP in Poland, it is hard to find works dealing with the neo-Weberian approach in public management as a reference plane for its implementation. The analysis below is based on a list of model features of LMP implemented according to the neo-Weberian principles, which was compiled by the author for the purpose of another study and slightly modified. Poland's institutions responsible for the implementation of LMP are diverse in nature and represent all the sectors – public, private and social. Public labour market institutions include Public Employment Services (PES) and the Voluntary Labour Corps (VLC). The findings discussed above and the author's own observations regarding Poland's LMP can be summarised as challenges. Addressing them may help the parties responsible to achieve the objectives of the policy using the model assumptions of the neo-Weberian approach.
