ABSTRACT
Vitiligo is an acquired hypopigmented dermatosis characterized by a progressive reduction in melanocyte number, which would be due to autoimmune mechanisms, neural mechanisms, oxidant–antioxidant balance impairment, and/or intrinsic defects of melanocytes.1
