ABSTRACT
The following points are some of those that have been found by the Office of the Children’s Commissioner to characterise good practice in primary schools (2012) and secondary schools (2013):
School culture of open communication and respect;
All staff receive regular training and understand how their role contributes to safeguarding;
Strategic vision led by senior managers;
Going above and beyond statutory requirements.
