ABSTRACT

Because of chloride ion and long expected service life, concrete structures in corrosion environment will suffer to corrosion damage, leading to deterioration of seismic performance. A total of eight RC pier column specimens were experimentally investigated for the influence of steel corrosion and axial repeated loads on the seismic performance of RC column. A parametric study by finite element analysis is conducted to assess the effect of primary parameters on the seismic performance of columns, such as concrete strength and longitudinal reinforcement ratio.
