In this chapter, I discuss some of the key themes and approaches revolving around consumption, communication, and urban restructuring. I also provide an insight into the case of Central and East European cities, focusing on various spaces of consumption (the mall, the bazaar, and the street) and hence advocating non-binary (e.g., Western/non-Western) analysis in future urban media debates.
