ABSTRACT
It has always appeared that the question of Socialism or Individualism resolves itself very largely into a question of Day-work or Piece-work. People agree that evils exist in the great extremes of wealth and poverty in the world to-day, but when Socialists propose remodelling society on a very high plane of intelligence. The three principle elements that enter into the creation of wealth are Labour, Capital, and the Employer. This chapter refers to the statement that Labour is the source of all wealth and should agree that if Labour created all wealth, Labour must possess all wealth, and any attempt to take any portion of wealth from Labour was an act of robbery. Adam Smith who said that a man got rich in proportion to the number of servants he employed in productive work, and he got poor in proportion to the number of servants in his domestic employ.
