Vanishing species or still vigorous players?
This chapter critically reviews sports journalism and journalists in Korea. Sports journalism and affiliated journalists located in Northeast Asia countries (e.g. Korea) have rarely been the subject of scholarly inquiry. Thus, the author critically reviews who Korean newspaper sports journalists are, how their job routines are currently affected by various external factors such as technological changes and industry transition, and how satisfied they are with their jobs and future expectations. Examination of sport journalists today as Korean media practitioners gives the readers insights regarding the sport media and the contemporary changes in the sport journalism culture and Korean society as a whole.
