ABSTRACT
In this last chapter, the aim is to outline some crucial issues for future research on evidence-based health care in the social sciences. Consistent with the approach taken in this book, the phenomenon of evidence-based medicine (EBM) is analysed in social science terms. EBM is approached as a social movement with widespread significance in contemporary health care (Banta 2003, Behague et al. 2009, Broom, Adams and Tovey 2009, Pope 2003, Timmermans and Almeling 2009).
