ABSTRACT
One of the major factor in determining the understeer and oversteer characteristics of a vehicle dynamics is lateral load transfer. A new equation was proposed which included torsional moment in vehicle body considering both tire deformation and jacking force difference in front and rear. For race cars, the proposed equation enhanced the estimation accuracy of lateral load transfer value by ∼6%.
