ABSTRACT

I believe Dr. Royer’s positions concerning the processes that may be operative and their temporal locus of operation are largely compatible with my own. For example, the SOS model presented in Figure 2 of Chapter 5 allows for reconstructive errors originating at various points during the delay interval. (However, my contention in the paper that over time the form and force of the reconciling errors made immediately after exposure to the ancillary information would probably change from speculations to assertions should be noted here as a qualification.)
