ABSTRACT
I would like to discuss the variability in the rules as I wrote them. You have different tutors who do different things in the same situation. As far as prescriptive statements, what I had in mind was applying a particular rule depending on what was done recently. In the case where you have two possible actions in the same situation, which is where the rules as written are not well specified or deterministic, one can add additional constraints like “I did this last time; let’s do something different.” But I think Dr. Resnick’s suggestion of having a goal in mind is even better.
