ABSTRACT

I do not understand the type of action research Dr. Jackson is suggesting. The example he provided about self-awareness rests, at least implicitly, on the idea that somebody is performing some behavior which is a mistake; if he becomes aware, it will change in a direction which is going to influence some kind of student behavior. It seems to me that that assumption has to rest on the kind of research that Dr. Berliner has been talking about. What is the basis for making a choice about what things you want to make them aware of?
