ABSTRACT

The main types of methods currently used for treatment of reject water are based on biological and physico-chemical (usually chemical precipitation with industrial coagulants) processes. Increasingly popular short nitrification processes: ANAMMOX, CANON, OLAND, SHARON, DEAMOX are used in biological methods (Hill & Khan 2008; Masłoń & Tomaszek 2009). Membrane separation is also increasingly proposed. However, application of membrane method alone has a substantial disadvantage-the problem involving disposal of obtained concentrate is still present.
