ABSTRACT
The last six years of Neville’s life marked the period when he was mostactive in English political life, and very nearly succeeded in gaining the high political office which had always eluded him. Yet, as before, he was doomed to political disappointment, and, as before, constantly felt the need for more money. As a result, he became increasingly involved with a number of major business ventures, especially the second London Virginia Company.
