ABSTRACT
The Community of Inquiry (CoI) theoretical framework is introduced and discussed in this chapter. Important theoretical and practical implications for online and blended learning for both distance education and higher education are covered, along with research related to the potential to design, guide, and assess e-learning approaches, strategies, and techniques. The theoretical development of the CoI framework, recent research, and resources are provided.
