ABSTRACT
I would like to offer some of my current views on organization theory by commenting on the past, present and future of our subject.
THE PAST
This volume is concerned with the contribution of David Silverman to organization theory. He has been a leading force in the movement to critique positivist organization theory and it is now over twenty years since the publication of his seminal article and book (Silverman 1968, 1970, respectively).
