ABSTRACT

What does the world look like from a child’s view point when they first experience symptoms of a clinical disorder? Do they notice that their experiences are different from the child sitting next to them? Likely not, at least not at first. Rather, they adapt in an attempt to calibrate their small world. Children are miraculously resilient. Without realizing they manage their ever-changing circumstances, while patiently waiting for their environment, their system of care, to identify their needs and intervene.
