ABSTRACT

Digital media are claimed to have already caused a revolutionary transformation of teaching and learning practices worldwide. This chapter focuses on a longitudinal case study undertaken with Arthur Kazakov – a 23-year-old student facing severe physical disabilities. The filmmaking process Arthur performed at least in three different positions: the author of the scenario; the protagonist of the film; the discussant of the film. Arthur entered Moscow State University of Psychology and Education after graduating from a boarding school. Since his childhood he has suffered from cerebral palsy. Due to a dysfunctional family background, he didn't receive the necessary medical care in time. Arthur's preliminary scenario and the original vision of the film kept changing throughout the semester. Thus the final version of "I Love" includes the materials from Arthur's personal archive, as well as Arthur's earlier works. The chapter illustrates the development of Arthur's reflection may be found in various fragments of the data.
