ABSTRACT
This chapter will explore the difference between personal and professional ethics. Readers will learn about ethics of healthcare interpreting in their geographical area and beyond, and about ethics of other professionals working with healthcare interpreters.
The chapter allows readers to reflect about ethics and responsibilities of freelancers and staff interpreters. On completion of this chapter, readers will be able to compare and contrast ethical principles of various professionals working with healthcare interpreters, identify and analyze ethical issues and dilemmas and apply a decision-making process to an ethical dilemma.
