160Ways for organization development (OD) consultants to penetrate all barriers to get to C-level executives, as well as useful tips for communicating with these executives throughout consulting projects are provided in this chapter. Meetings and consensus-building with C-level executives are critical for OD consultants because senior executives shape values and lead changes within the organization. They not only control an organization’s resources and systems but also serve as role models for people in the organization. In this regard, communication with C-level executives is important since “OD works best when it is supported by top managers” (Rothwell, Stravros, Sullivan, R.L. & Sullivan A., 2010, p. 14).
