ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with the questions of how and why effective human rights advocacy as recognition occurs in the context of international negotiations for climate change. Building on interviews with representatives of Indigenous Peoples and women and other participants of the UNFCCC process, the chapter emphasizes the dynamics and plural forms of representation and recognition and the inconclusive character of inclusive global climate governance.
