274Preliminary investigation shows that some nanocomposites with special filler material may achieve superlative mechanical properties like remarkable improvement in Fracture toughness, Vibration damping, etc. Recently nano-sized particles are superseding the micro-sized particles because of their improved physical and mechanical properties. Particulate-reinforced nanocomposites have been considerably employed in the automotive and aerospace industry for their potential to withstand high temperature and pressure. This chapter reviews relevant literature which deals with various processing method, mechanical properties, effect of carbon nanotube’s morphology on the properties and structure of aluminum matrix composites. Among the varieties of metallurgical processing techniques are available, powder metallurgy technique is generally accepted process route due to its simplicity, adaptability, and uniform distribution. This review will provide the reader with an overview of aluminum nanocomposite manufacturing methods along with its mechanical properties and structural characterization.
