13.1 INTRODUCTION

Water is scarce, precious natural resources and most crucial element, which must be planned, developed, conserved and managed in a sustainable manner. Optimum management of available water resources at farm level is needed because of increasing demands, limited resources, water table variation in space and time, and soil combination [15]. It is important to increase the crop yield under limited water sources for optimum crop production to meet future need of food production.
