6.1 INTRODUCTION

During the last two decades, significant successes are observed in the field of intensive action on a material using different methods (laser, irradiation, intensive plastic deformation (IPD), ion implantation, etc.). Among them, a considerable attention is given to the IPD in the chapter. In this connection, the investigation of phase transformations caused both by the change of composition and by external actions is very important. The problem of the IPD influence on phase transformations at heating in closed space is discussed in the present paper in respect to chromium-nickel steel.
