ABSTRACT
In July 2005, Mumbai was beset with India’s heaviest rainstorm in a century. This catastrophic event killed nearly 600 people and paralyzed the city’s operations from infrastructure, public health facilities, and transportation. It was one of the most devastating storms ever recorded in the country (Patil and Deepa, 2007).
