ABSTRACT

Globally, solid waste is one of the subjects of greatest concern for the environment. Historically, the environment has been considered a sink for all the waste produced by human activities since the beginning of civilization. The suitable environment in which the human race resides, along with the flora and fauna, is a gift of nature, formed through different phenomenal natural activities. Today’s technologically advanced society, in the wake of urbanization and the advancement of civilization, has knowingly or unknowingly contributed substantially to altering the natural environment. To satisfy daily needs, human activities contribute to all types of pollution related to air, water, and land. As air and water comprise an essential part of the human being, these effects are easily noticed. Therefore, numerous attempts are being made to prevent and control pollution.
