Natural Deaths

WithMARY H. DUDLEY, LAUREN E. DVORSCAK

Among the manners of death, the largest category is death from natural causes. Accurate determination of natural death is important to the family to identify familial conditions as well as to the regional and national data banks to identify causation. Funds for research, programs to change health practices, and patient education efforts hinge upon identified needs, that is, the number of people per 100,000 who die from a medical condition or its sequelae.
