ABSTRACT

Prostate cancer is one of the most prevalent types of cancer among males where many symptoms are said to be associated with it. However, symptoms are a general identification of prostate cancer where most of the patients shared the common symptoms, thereby it is difficult to suggest the actual type of prostate cancer based on these common symptoms. This chapter aims to identify the most likely type of prostate cancer using weighted-based approach of decision-making technique. The typical types of prostate cancer and its most commonly shared symptoms are defined according to the framework of fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP). Three decision makers from medical experts were interviewed to provide linguistic data about the association of the selected symptoms and types of prostate cancer. Multicriteria group decision-making of the FAHP was utilized to establish a decision. The decision has reached where prostate cancer of sarcoma is the best alternative among the three types of cancer. The symptoms of trouble urinating, hesitancy (difficulty starting urine stream), hematuria (blood in urine), and nocturia (excessive urination at night) are the indicators of the occurrence of type of prostate cancer.
