ABSTRACT

This chapter provides an examples from the literature of physical and chemical activated carbon nanofiber (ACNF) preparation via the electrospinning (ES) process. It demonstrates an essential explanation and a comprehensive literature research on fabrication of ACNFs via different techniques from various resources, including gas, liquid, solid, natural resources, and recycled materials. The chapter discusses the readers toward a detailed thinking of ACNF production and characterization methods and application of such porous nanofibers due to their properties, including morphological and microstructural features. Polymer-based ACNFs have been produced via ES of a polymer precursor after stabilization, carbonization, and activation processes. Environmentally damaged substances and biogases can be released from the system to reduce potential harmful effects by using ACNFs. CNFs are produced in a chamber by feeding the carbon precursor in gas phase and CNFs are grown in the chamber by adjusting the environment in a wanted condition.
