ABSTRACT
Dysfunction manifests with a loss of balance. The ferret may list or fall or one side. There may be head tilt. Proprioceptive ataxia is due to spinal disease. Decits are localised to the affected region of the spinal corn. Trauma, intervertebral disc disease and tumours within or compressing the spinal cord or nerves may cause the ataxia (Fig. 17.3).
