ABSTRACT

Fungi are a large group of the eukaryotic organisms, occurring in various habitats either in free forms or in association with other microbes, plants, or animals. The fungi act largely as decomposer of the organic matters and extensively involved in the organic and nutrient cycles (Thorn 1997). They are used in various benecial applications such as direct source of the food (mushrooms), fermentation process, antibiotics, enzymes, industrial detergents, biological pesticides, and bioactive compounds of mycotoxins such as alkaloids and polyketides (Furbino et al. 2014; Suryanarayanan et al. 2009).
