ABSTRACT

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a relatively common benign vascular lesion of the skin and mucous membranes. This misnamed entity is neither infectious nor granulomatous, and therefore some authors prefer the term lobular capillary hemangioma to describe these lesions because of the histologic findings.
