ABSTRACT
The European Union Tissues and Cells Directive2 and the Brazilian Cell and Tissue Directive3 cover a wide spectrum of systems aiming at increasing quality in all units performing ART through mandatory implementation of a quality management system that involves the presence of adequately trained and certified staff, full documentation and formulation of standard operating procedures, quality control, and quality assurance. Both directives dictate specific requirements for air quality control within reproductive laboratories (reviewed by Esteves and Bento).4
