Two prominent recreational parks in Ipoh city was chosen as a case study in prioritizing the criteria pertaining to the needs of urban green space. The decision making procedure uses twenty expert decision makers’ opinion through AHP pairwise comparison questionnaire. Nine criteria (desirable feature attributes) that influence urban green space is selected from literature study that satisfy the needs of the public and the environment. An unrestricted, non-commercial AHP Excel Template tool were used in the decision making process. The result has shown that safety criteria have been identified as the most important indicator, followed by maintenance, accessibility and connectivity. Other criteria such as visual pattern, recreation facilities and amenities are identically important features that contribute to the sustainable indicator of urban green space development.
