ABSTRACT

The EEBI Chair is interested in transport for two reasons. On the one hand, buildings are devised to be occupied by individuals who use them to carry out activities but do not remain in them permanently. These individuals must therefore be able to get to the building, which means it must be accessible by road and one or several means of transport. On the other hand, on a larger scale, a bigger set of buildings includes roads that are elements of transport infrastruct ure – their design must fulfil the requirements of the urban fragment concerned, which it must do in interaction with the outside, for internal movements, exchanges with the outside and perhaps also flows in transit.
