ABSTRACT
If everyone already knows a story, why tell it again? That may sound like a rhetorical question, but it does have at least two possible answers: one is that life’s eternal truths need reiterating; another is that if you tell a story differently, it’s not the same story anyway. With appropriate duality, both apply to the tale of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
