ABSTRACT
During gynecological surgery, the structures of the lower urinary tract are particularly at risk due to the close proximity of the pelvic organs to the ureters and bladder. Therefore, all pelvic surgeons should be familiar with ways to prevent and manage such complications. This chapter focuses on the iatrogenic causes of bladder and ureteral injury, strategies to prevent and recognize them, and management of postoperative repair.
