ABSTRACT
Surgical intervention remains the definitive treatment for the majority of women with pelvic floor dysfunction. Although surgical technique is a major factor influencing outcome, other factors such as appropriate patient selection, preoperative investigation and preparation, and postoperative care are also important considerations.
