ABSTRACT

A1 B This patient has bilateral renal artery stenosis from renal artery fibrodysplasia. The diagnosis can be suspected by the appearance of significant hypertension in a paediatric patient as well as by the development of diastolic hypertension with a diastolic pressure greater than 115 mmHg. Many paediatric patients do not present with the classic chain-of-lakes appearance seen in adult cases of renal fibrodysplasia.
