ABSTRACT

We learned Lean as a system (pulling from the Toyota production system “House” model, see Figure 1.1). We trained and coached leaders, managers, and front-line staff on the key Lean principles from the Toyota house and then launched key Lean initiatives. This usually started with identifying strategic value streams, key A3s or Kaizen events or rapid improvement projects to not only achieve key organizational goals but to also develop staff along the way. Leaders and teams quickly learned the power of Lean methods and life was good.
