ABSTRACT

Cyberstalking is oen discussed in relation to, and sometimes interchangeably with, the terms cyberharassing and cyberbullying. Although there are no universally accepted denitions of these terms, there are general dierences. Cyberstalking is the stalking of another person via the Internet, e-mail, and other electronic devices (Department of Justice 2001). Stalking generally refers to repeated, threatening behavior or conduct that causes actual or reasonable fear (Department of Justice 1998). e cyberstalker’s motivation is oen to control the victim, much like stalkers who employ oine techniques (Department of Justice 2001).
