ABSTRACT

The aim of healthcare is to achieve the best health outcomes in the most efficient manner, and the challenge for today's health delivery systems is to increase productivity and quality of care without increasing the economic costs. Portable meters are used by healthcare workers and by patients. Because of their imprecision and variability, they should not be used for diagnosing diabetes and their value in screening must be limited. Continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion and multiple doses of insulin are both safe and valid treatments for women with type 1 diabetes during pregnancy. The diagnosis of diabetes is a cause of anxiety, particularly in the case of women in pregnancy. Most women responded they were happy about the quality of care provided in the different diabetes centers.
