ABSTRACT

Renal disease occurs in a very large number of syndromic disorders in which anomalies involving other organs are also present. More than 500 such syndromes have been described. Congenital renal anomalies, such as renal hypoplasia, renal dysplasia, renal cysts, or congenital abnormalities of the urinary tract, accompany many syndromic disorders. Other kidney-related symptoms, such as nephrotic syndrome or hematuria, may also be observed in the syndromic disorders.
