ABSTRACT

In this chapter, clinical effects and different training modalities that have been investigated so far will be summarized and discussed. Furthermore, safety data, the role of a self-care management of exercise training, costs, and possible pathophysiologic mechanism will be reviewed. It is also shown that exercise training may be highly effective in patients with PH and right heart failure, but there is a need for further larger-scaled multicentric randomized controlled studies and implementation of a standardized exercise program in more countries.
