ABSTRACT
DESCRIPTION Arthrosopy involves endoscopic examination of a joint, and is usually a day-case procedure performed under a general anaesthetic. It can be conducted under local anaesthesia, but a general anaesthetic is usually preferred. Knee arthroscopy is preceded by an examination under anaesthetic, which gives useful information about cruciate and collateral ligaments.
