ABSTRACT

This chapter explores how a research project can contribute to professional practice. It provides the opportunities available to undertake and execute a research project. The chapter presents guidelines for writing up a research project which will ensure continuity of presentation, coherence and flow of material. It discusses disseminating research outcomes, and includes local and national strategies. It also provides guidelines on presenting a detailed, written research report. The chapter highlights the areas that need elaboration for a dissertation. It also presents sufficient information to convince reader that data collection methods support the research approach taken.
