ABSTRACT
BayCare Health System has focused heavily on originating and servicing systems that streamline, support, and enhance processes needed to run a successful multi-million-dollar hospital system. The healthcare industry is going through an unprecedented period of change and growth, which drives the need to use all the tools at our disposal to achieve excellence and gain a competitive advantage. Various firms from a variety of industries that are considered to be leaders in their use of analytics and have demonstrated their “world class” data competencies were studied to learn what works and what does not work. In the healthcare delivery climate, there is an increasing need to ensure that information is trustworthy and actionable. Analytics are used to drive accountability throughout the organization, which includes simple reporting and analytics to enable clear understanding and decision making allowing open access to data without management filtering.
