ABSTRACT
This chapter presents case studies that provide useful perspectives on the current state of big data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence —and what the near future holds for healthcare professionals and policy makers. In addition to providing real-life examples of bedrock principles and best practices, these case studies showcase the exciting developments and the rapid value currently being obtained by leveraging and integrating all healthcare data. Case study contributors are world-class leaders with demonstrable and extensive track records of vision and success. They provide excellent examples of how to go from Analytics 1.0 to 2.0 and 3.0. In the spirit of collaboration and peer-to-peer sharing, case study authors write about what worked, what did not work, and lessons learned in their journeys.
