ABSTRACT

Internationalisation determines the vitality and profitability of companies and thus also the growth of the Slovak economy. For this reason, the objective of the current study is to provide a comprehensive overview of the business internationalisation in Slovakia and derive conclusions and recommendations from it. This chapter is organised as follows. The first part of the chapter presents the state of the art in the field of business internationalisation in Slovakia. Different sources of data are used, such as statistics about export provided by the Statistical Office of Slovakia, academic surveys about business internationalisation and Eurobarometer data. The second part of the chapter introduces a case study of a medium-sized company called Telegrafia, which operates in the field of warning systems worldwide.
