ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Since 2015 the Polish authors have developed an original method for assessing the capacity of closed-end pipe piles. A self-balanced appliance was built to test pile axial capacity. Currently, field tests are conducted to develop methods of evaluating the bearing capacity of the pile mobilized at its base and on its side. The studies considered different ways of application of the load on the pile base with regard to a different value and sign of stress transferred to the surroundings of the pile by its side surface. The cooperation with Moscow State University of Civil Engineering enabled a more sophisticated evaluation of the influence of cyclic loading to the pile capacity at various stages after pile completion. Simultaneously, various techniques of surveying were used for a fast and reliable measurement of displacement of many points in terms of pile testing.
